Buying The Wii
Well it was the holidays of 2006. We just finished October and before you knew it, Thanksgiving was fast approaching. Now in the U.S. many of us celebrate the holidays in a festive manner. We start weeks in advance preparing for Thanksgiving Day. We start cooking on Wednesday and finish up on Thursday just in time for the big meal. It is a good time with the family and friends.
Well everyone knows what the next day is going to be. Black Friday as it is referred to here in the U.S.
This year would be no different, you get the advertisements early and try to make your decision where you can find the best deals. My favorite ones are the electronic advertisements. In every advertisement this year everyone was placing the Nintendo Wii up front. Unfortunately since the Wii console had just been released it was going to be hard to find and very popular. Nintendo thought this out real well you could tell. Supply was low and demand of the Wii was high. Lines would form at all the stores in anticipation of buying the Wii. If you were not one of the first few in line then you could forget buying a Wii console on Friday. However there were plenty of other deals beside the Wii to choose. Nintendo was ready to take the market by storm.
What a day it was, the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday and everyone had made their decisions on what to buy. They had filled their stomachs the day before, went to bed late (or not at all) and got up early.
They dragged themselves to the car and drove to the first place they thought they might get the elusive Wii.
Behold not a line! They parked and jumped out of the car and ran up to the front of the building. There were only a couple of people waiting and guess what? They all were planning on buying the Nintendo Wii.
They waited until the store opened and all rushed to get their new prize possession. They each grabbed one for a total of two, which probably upset some further back, and walked around the store for just a few minutes, looked at a couple of DVDs, games for the Wii and other items on the list. After gathering up a few other items with the Wii safely tucked under the arm went to the register and made their purchase.
Wii, Wii or WWwwweeeee! They had accomplished the task of buying the Wii.

I got lucky. I happened to go to the store and they happened to have one available. I was told that someone had put it aside to save it for someone but this was not the store’s policy so I got the console instead. So I lucked out, I love my Wii
